Still, he said, people tend to underestimate the rapid evolution of technology:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cGiven the recent advancements which have happened in chip technology, in compute tech, and in the power of doing compute in a decentralized way, it [quantum computing] is definitely a problem. If not imminent [\u2026] in the very near future.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Quantum computing harnesses the principles of quantum <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/quantumai.google\/discover\/whatisqc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/quantumai.google\/discover\/whatisqc\">physics<\/a> to process information at speeds far beyond today\u2019s machines.
