Source: Cointelegraph\/TradingView<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Aave governance vote ends in rejection after community pushback<\/h2>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">Aave token holders voted against a controversial governance proposal seeking to place control of the protocol&#8217;s brand assets under DAO ownership.<\/p>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">On Friday, the snapshot poll <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/snapshot.org\/#\/s:aavedao.eth\/proposal\/0xbc606159ddeae0184c2086055637d3f357351ec0adc4c9f4150751bc41918eba\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">closed<\/a> with 55.29% voting \u201cNAY\u201d and 41.21% abstaining. Only 3.5% of voters supported the proposal.<\/p>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">The proposal asked whether Aave (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/aave-price-index\">AAVE<\/a>) token holders should regain control over Aave\u2019s domains, social handles, naming rights and other intellectual property through an entity under a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/learn\/articles\/what-is-a-dao\">decentralized autonomous organization (DAO)<\/a>. Supporters framed the move as a step toward decentralization and clarifying questions about brand stewardship.<\/p>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">The rejection closed a tense governance episode for Aave, one of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/learn\/articles\/defi-a-comprehensive-guide-to-decentralized-finance\">decentralized finance&#8217;s (DeFi)<\/a> biggest lending protocols.
