Tether<\/a>\u00a0has launched\u00a0USAT<\/a>, a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin developed to operate within the federal stablecoin framework established by the\u00a0GENIUS Act<\/a>.<\/p>\n USAT is issued by\u00a0Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A.<\/a>, a federally regulated stablecoin issuer, and the stablecoin\u2019s designated reserve custodian and preferred primary dealer is\u00a0Cantor Fitzgerald<\/a>, Tether said\u00a0in\u00a0a Tuesday\u00a0(Jan. 27)\u00a0press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n Another Tether stablecoin,\u00a0USDT<\/a>, continues to operate globally and is progressing toward compliance with the GENIUS Act, according to the release.<\/p>\n PYMNTS reported in October that USDT is the most traded cryptocurrency<\/a> by volume around the world and that Tether CEO\u00a0<\/span>Paolo Ardoino<\/span><\/a> said in September that the token is used by hundreds of millions of people in emerging markets.<\/p>\n Tether\u2019s newest stablecoin, USAT, is now available to institutions and platforms, and it is designed to function within applicable regulatory requirements at an institutional scale, the Tuesday press release said.<\/p>\n During the first phase of USAT\u2019s launch, it will be available on Bybit<\/a>, Crypto.com<\/a>, Kraken<\/a>, OKX<\/a> and MoonPay<\/a>, per the release.<\/p>\n Advertisement: Scroll to Continue<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cUSAT offers institutions an additional option: a dollar-backed token made in America,\u201d Tether CEO\u00a0Paolo Ardoino<\/a> said in the release. \u201cUSDT has proven for more than a decade that digital dollars can deliver trust,\u00a0transparency\u00a0and utility\u00a0at\u00a0a global scale.
