The announcement was made by X Product Head Nikita Bier, who warned developers about using AI to scrape data from the platform.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-1\">\n<h2>X sends chilling warning to developers:<\/h2>\n<p>While Bier did not explain the reasons behind the aggressive detection measures being rolled out by X, the move comes amid a rise of autonomous AI agents and the rise of open agent platforms like <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/technology\/openclaw-user-says-ai-went-rogue-highlighting-risks-of-agents-11770226539055.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"OpenClaw\">OpenClaw<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-2\">\n<p>\u201cWe are rolling out more detection for automation &#038; spam (and a lot more to come). If a human is not tapping on the screen, the account and all associated accounts will likely be suspended \u2014 even if you\u2019re just experimenting.\u201d Bier wrote in a post on X.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-5\">\n<p>\u201cWhile we aim to support legitimate use-cases of agents, this will take some time to do properly. For now, we recommend holding off on plugging in your bots. If it\u2019s critical, you can use the official API.\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-6\">\n<p>In reply to a post, Bier went on to warn that any form of scraping will be detected by the platform.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-7\">\n<p>\u201cUse the official API all you want. But any form of scraping or search that is automated will get caught currently.\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-8\">\n<p>Just days ago, Bier had warned about the threat posed to current communication platforms like <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/technology\/tech-news\/x-product-head-says-ai-agents-will-make-phone-calls-and-email-unusable-in-3-months-heres-why-11770877838337.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"Gmail\">Gmail<\/a> and iMessage, which he said would become virtually \u2018unusable\u2019 due to the rise of OpenClaw that has made the technology behind creating spammy bots easier to access than ever.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-9\">\n<p>\u201cIn less than 90 days, all channels that we thought were safe from spam &#038; automation will be so flooded that they will no longer be usable in any functional sense: iMessage, phone calls, Gmail.\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/technology\/tech-news\/will-x-get-a-native-ai-video-editor-product-head-nikita-bier-responds-11770557972721.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"Bier\">Bier<\/a> had said then.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-10\">\n<h2>What is OpenClaw?<\/h2>\n<p>OpenClaw is an open-source framework that had recently gained popularity after the rise of Moltbook. The framework allows users to run autonomous AI agents on their machines and connect to the apps that they already use like WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Teams and more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-11\">\n<p>Unlike traditional chatbots like <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/news\/trends\/chatgpt-viral-caricature-trend-what-is-it-and-why-is-internet-hooked-11770798120026.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"ChatGPT\">ChatGPT<\/a> and Gemini that have to wait for commands from users, OpenClaw agents can take multi-step actions on behalf of the users, like controlling a web browser, sending messages and even managing files on a computer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-14\">\n<p>While the platform is intended as a productivity tool, there have been concerns raised that it essentially democratizes industrial-grade spamming.
