{"id":423251,"date":"2026-04-01T04:08:15","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T22:38:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/businesses-face-pressure-while-waiting-for-tariff-refunds-crypto-news\/"},"modified":"2026-04-01T05:29:30","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T23:59:30","slug":"businesses-face-pressure-while-waiting-for-tariff-refunds-crypto-news-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/businesses-face-pressure-while-waiting-for-tariff-refunds-crypto-news-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Businesses Face Pressure While Waiting For Tariff Refunds &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>Last April, President Donald Trump declared \u201cLiberation Day\u201d in imposing new tariffs.<\/p>\n<div id=\"article-paywall-hidden-content\">\n<p>Nearly one year later, many American businesses are feeling anything but liberated, the Wall Street Journal <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/business\/tariffs-put-businesses-in-crisis-waiting-for-the-refund-could-be-worse-473d9387?mod=business_lead_pos4\">reported<\/a> Tuesday (March 31).<\/p>\n<p>As that report noted, companies of all sizes are grappling with uncertainty surrounding when or if they will get their share of refunds from the $166 billion the administration collected, a process later <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/supply-chain\/2026\/tariff-decision-leaves-businesses-facing-new-uncertainties\/\">deemed illegal<\/a> by the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>Upwards of 3,000 lawsuits have been filed against the government in the Court of International Trade by businesses hoping for a refund. While some of these plaintiffs include <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/legal\/2025\/costco-takes-white-house-to-court-over-unlawful-tariffs\/\">high-profile companies<\/a> like <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cvs.com\/\">CVS<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.costco.com\/\">Costco<\/a>, most are small businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Other companies can\u2019t afford to go to court, the report added. Among them is <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/endlesspens.com\/?srsltid=AfmBOoqrhlNdXA3exFR031CU4unpOGLJc09B_n9znLLhHeBW8aR9w9p5\">Endless Pens<\/a>, a Florida-based luxury online retailer waiting on refunds of the $175,000 in tariffs it paid on imports. Thanks!<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve come to a cash flow crisis,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t have enough cash to buy any new inventory.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"pymnt-1970138340\" class=\"pymnt-content\" style=\"margin-top: 50px;\">\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">Advertisement: Scroll to Continue<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>White House officials have said in court that it could take the government <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/legal\/2026\/white-house-warns-of-lengthy-tariff-refund-timeline\/\">up to 4.4 million hours<\/a> to manually process the various refund requests, but noted that computer upgrades designed to speed that effort could be ready by mid-April, substantially reducing the 4.4 million estimate.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, PYMNTS <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/legal\/2026\/tariff-refund-claims-could-expose-major-supplier-enablement-gaps\/\">wrote<\/a> earlier this month about another lesson for businesses offered by the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/smbs\/2025\/small-businesses-find-it-hard-to-breathe-tariffs-persist\/\">tariffs<\/a>.
