The Kobeissi Letter added:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cCrypto card adoption has rapidly accelerated in 2026 due to growing access to stablecoins as a payment rail through crypto cards. In other words, more people can now spend stablecoins like fiat by using crypto cards, further driving adoption.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The growth of crypto payment cards highlights how digital assets, particularly stablecoins, are becoming integrated into the traditional financial system <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/circle-ceo-usdc-neutral-layer-banks-visa-mastercad\">without displacing incumbent payment providers<\/a> like Mastercard and Visa.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related: <\/strong><\/em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/solayer-launches-visa-compatible-card-for-usdc-payments\"><em><strong>Solayer launches Visa-compatible card for USDC payments<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Crypto cards are powering everyday payments around the globe <\/h2>\n<p>Crypto exchange OKX <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/okx-eu-crypto-card-regulated-issuer-monavate\">launched a stablecoin payments card<\/a> for customers in Europe in January 2026, which operates on the Mastercard network.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><img alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-images.ctmedia.io\/media\/content\/g2j00obaiamak3s.jpeg\" width=\"896\" height=\"976\" data-original=\"https:\/\/s3-images.ctmedia.io\/media\/content\/g2j00obaiamak3s.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Crypto protocols and platforms helping facilitate onchain payments products. Source: <\/em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Mars_DeFi\/status\/1973268037790060600\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Mars DeFi<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Grocery store purchases were the top spending category and accounted for about 26% of all OKX card transactions in January, while restaurants accounted for 18% of the total transaction volume, according to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.okx.com\/en-eu\/learn\/okx-card-how-europeans-spend-crypto\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">data<\/a> from OKX.<\/p>\n<p>Online shopping was the third-biggest spending category, accounting for about 13% of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/okx-card-data-shows-crypto-is-paying-for-everyday-life-in-europe\">the total transaction volume<\/a> for the month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen crypto pays for lunch, payment adoption is real.
