You were great while it lasted,&#8221; wrote a user on Reddit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-12\" class=\"storyParagraph\">\n<p>\u201cWhat a joke,\u201d chimed in another user.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-13\" class=\"storyParagraph\">\n<p>\u201cWith Copilot shifting to usage-based billing, it\u2019s time to say goodbye. I\u2019ve already jumped ship to Codex. With Copilot&#8217;s new pricing, I just don&#8217;t see them offering more tokens than Codex at the same price point,\u201d added a frustrated user on Reddit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-14\" class=\"storyParagraph\">\n<p>Some users on Reddit pointed to the broader change in the AI industry as compute costs continue to rise, writing, &#8220;What we&#8217;re seeing is basically the end of AI being ridiculously subsidised. The real cost is starting to become apparent (and it&#8217;s pretty damn high).&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-17\" class=\"storyParagraph\">\n<p>Another user added, \u201cAI is becoming so expensive nowadays that I&#8217;ve got to start thinking again.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-18\" class=\"storyParagraph\">\n<p>&#8220;Microsoft could easily keep subsidising Copilot, they don&#8217;t want to.
