Robinhood Markets<\/a>\u00a0has launched the public mainnet of\u00a0Robinhood Chain<\/a>, a Layer 2 blockchain that the company said is purpose-built for real-world assets.<\/p>\n Robinhood Chain is built using the Arbitrum Platform to institutional standards, is natively connected to Robinhood\u2019s onchain users, and has deep integrations with Alchemy, BitGo and Chainlink, the company said\u00a0in\u00a0a Wednesday (July 1)\u00a0press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cAI-native and purpose-built for real-world assets, Robinhood Chain creates a permissionless environment for builders to innovate seamlessly,\u201d Robinhood said in the release.<\/p>\n The blockchain is one of several new decentralized finance and agentic products Robinhood announced Wednesday during its event, \u201cRobinhood Presents: The World is Flat<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n The products include new\u00a0Stock Tokens<\/a>\u00a0that are available on the Robinhood Wallet in 120 countries and enable 24\/7 trading directly on the Robinhood Chain; the rollout of\u00a0Robinhood Earn<\/a> to\u00a0eligible U.S. users, enabling them to lend USDG; and an integration that lets users access perpetual futures on decentralized exchange\u00a0Lighter<\/a>\u00a0within\u00a0Robinhood Wallet<\/a>.<\/p>\n Other additions include an expansion of\u00a0perpetual futures<\/a> available in the European Union; maker order types for eligible crypto traders; and agentic accounts for crypto trading in the U.S., per the release.<\/p>\n Robinhood also said its platform is now officially available in Canada, Robinhood Singapore received its capital markets services license in Singapore, and Robinhood plans to launch crypto in the United Kingdom soon.<\/p>\n \u201cDecentralized finance unlocks possibilities beyond what traditional finance can offer, but historically, it has required technical expertise to navigate,\u201d\u00a0Johann Kerbrat<\/a>, senior vice president and general manager of crypto and international at Robinhood, said in the release. \u201cWe\u2019re bringing the best of traditional finance and DeFi together, and in doing so, expanding financial ownership to every corner of the globe.\u201d<\/p>\n PYMNTS reported in April that Robinhood\u2019s first quarter results reflected the company\u2019s deliberate pivot from a trading app tied to retail speculation toward an\u00a0integrated financial platform<\/a>\u00a0that is built to capture long-term customer value and combines brokerage, banking, advisory and social engagement.<\/p>\n
