WietseWind, one of the developers building on the XRP Ledger took to the X app to announce the recent updates introduced on the ledger.

Key Smart Contract Tool Bags New Upgrade

The developer stated that he has worked with Denis Angell, another developer to update the smart contract-enabled Xahau signing.

According to WietseWind’s Post on X, his core responsibility during the upgrade was client integration while Denis did the Ledger firmware. Together, they achieved the Xahau signing that will further boost the flow of XRPL native transactions to the Ledger hardware wallet.

He further claimed that they gained experience in updating the XRPL implementation process of updating the Xahau signing.

With the Xahau update out of the way, these developers now look forward to introducing Automated Market Maker (AMM) as well as other amendments to Ledger.

Noteworthy, XRPL Labs recently announced the introduction of the XRP smart contract sidechain Xahau Ledger. The launch of this protocol meant that new multiple features are expected on the XRPL ecosystem. It also marked increased adoption of XRP and XRPL.

To complement the growing enhancements in the network, XRPL Labs, the developer of XRPL self-custody wallet Xumm, announced that it is taking part in introducing a whitepaper for the Xahau Ledger.

Xahau Sidechain and Troves Of Amendment

In the months that followed, Xahau Sidechain went through and completed its comprehensive audit of Xahaud, its codebase. The audit, which was conducted by FYEO, one of Xahau’s initial Governance Game Validator Seats and Security partners, spanned from October 01 – October 27, 2023.

The basic objectives of the audit were to provide an assessment of the security exposure of Xahau Sidechain as well as its internal risks and to provide professional opinions on the maturity and adequacy of the security measures in place. The last objective was to identify issues and share improvement recommendations gleaned through the audit tests.

There were concerns from the XRP community who speculated that the launch of the Xahau Sidechain was going to distract XRP developers, causing them to eventually abandon the project. Though valid, these concerns did not stop the introduction of the smart chain.

Since its launch, several amendments including REMIT have been added to it. The REMIT amendment comes with a couple of functionalities including a novel payment transactor that permits the expansion of the XLS-55d proposal for XRPL-like networks to Xahau.

The Xumm developers’ decision to add more amendments soon is likely to contribute to more adoption in the XRPL ecosystem.
