CoinEx Exchange Hacked For $28M – Crypto News
HK-based Crypto Exchange CoinEx Says It Will Compensate Affected Parties After Multiple Hot Wallets Were Drained
An ongoing breach of the CoinEx crypto exchange has seen at least 4,946 ETH and 354,762 TRX drained from four of the platform’s hot wallets. The company is investigating the incident and has said that affected users will be made whole.
One address received at least $5M in multiple assets from CoinEx according to the crypto alert platform Cyvers Alerts.
The exchange’s CET token crashed over 15% following the breach.
Crypto sleuth ZachXBT revealed other addresses associated with the breach in a telegram channel dedicated to investigations.
CoinEx did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
