Solana Mobile Just Smashed its Personal Preorder Record – Crypto News

As of today February 5, Solana Mobile has registered more than 60,000 pre-orders for its new Android device dubbed Chapter 2.

The Solana Mobile Preorder Boom

Solana Mobile Chapter 2 device was made available for pre-order earlier this year in preparation for its official launch and the level of interest shown in the new phone is applaudable. In less than 48 hours of the announcement, about 30,000 units of the new phones were paid for.

The firm tagged this development as a milestone towards realizing its goal of making Web3.0 solutions accessible globally. So far, Solana Mobile has received more than 60,000 pre-orders for the Chapter 2 phone. The opportunity to preorder is still open to the public with the price pegged at $450.

Solana Chapter 2 is an advanced version of the Solana Saga phone, but it shares similarities with the latter. This includes ‘Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1, 12GB of RAM, 512GM of Flash, 6.67” OLED display’ specifications. It would also have an integrated crypto wallet, customized Android software, and a “DApp store” for crypto applications.

Solana Saga was offered for $1,000, but customers who placed pre-orders received a $100 refund. With Solana Mobile Chapter 2, there are bound to be additional features including an upgrade of existing functionalities. One of these upgrades would be a noticeable hardware overhaul.

Solana Chapter 2 Incentivization Scheme

The growing preorders for this new phone from Solana Mobile may be a result of the incentivization scheme attached to its purchase.

Buyers will get some non-transferable tokens including Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as incentives. Solana Saga had a similar program to incentivize its buyers as BONK meme coin was offered to customers who purchased the phone.

Many Solana Mobile customers are expectant of another BONK giveaway but it is not certain if Solana will adopt this meme coin in its marketing strategy again.

On one hand, the Solana (SOL) has been fluctuating sideways. At the time of this writing, the coin was trading at $95.59 with a 1.66% price plunge in the last 24 hours. The traction that Solana Chapter 2 is getting from netizens is likely to impact the price positively in the coming days

Despite the buzz being generated at this time, it is worth noting that the phone’s official launch date will not come until 2025.
